Kody Brown is choosing to see the silver lining in a challenging experience. While whispers circulated that the reality TV star faced some friction with his co-stars during the fourth season of *Special Forces: World's Toughest Test*—which is set to premiere on Fox on September 25—the *Sister Wives* star had nothing but glowing remarks for his castmates. "Nothing but love for all the cast members," Kody shared exclusively with E! News at a *Special Forces* red carpet event on September 9, adding with conviction, "For the rest of our lives." (For more insights from the interview with the *Special Forces* cast, tune into E! News tonight, September 11, at 11 p.m.)
Fellow *Special Forces* co-star Johnny Manziel, who joined Kody for the interview, echoed this heartfelt sentiment, jesting that everyone on the show had formed a trauma bond through the grueling trials they had endured together. "When you see people you’ve gone through something like this with, it always brings a smile," explained the former NFL quarterback. "You always share a mutual respect for how tough it was and what you both went through."
For Kody, the experience was particularly taxing. "They’re seeking out your weaknesses. And they’re pushing you right to the edge of them," the 56-year-old admitted. "And they found me—both emotionally and mentally vulnerable." Kody continued, "It felt like it shattered me. It was humiliating in a way that left me feeling incredibly humble when I returned home."
But in a roundabout way, Kody—who is a father to 18 children with his wife Robyn Brown and ex-wives Meri Brown, Christine Brown, and Janelle Brown—discovered that the "constant humiliation" actually paved the way for a "better life" post-*Special Forces*. "There’s a humility that sweetens the rest of your existence," he reflected. "I’ve felt genuinely good ever since it ended."
Despite the hardships, both Kody and Johnny expressed their enthusiasm for another season without hesitation. "I would love to do it again and have them push me in all the same ways with a new group and relive that same experience," Kody declared. "I’d jump at the chance." But the TLC star couldn’t resist adding with a chuckle, "Just please do it before I turn 60."
