Confirmations of Flay's, 60, and Williamson's, 46, relationship emerged a few weeks ago, with a source revealing to PEOPLE that the pair, who had been friends for some time, had recently decided to take their bond to the next level.
During the latest episode of her "Let's Be Honest" podcast, Cavallari, 38, shared with her audience an encounter she had with Flay and Williamson in Miami, expressing her genuine admiration for Flay's new love interest. "I truly liked her a great deal," Cavallari remarked, as reported by Page Six. "I'm genuinely delighted for him."
What gives this revelation significance is the recent media frenzy linking Cavallari's name to Flay, suggesting she had supposedly turned down his advances. Consequently, Cavallari's name has been featured prominently in headlines heralding Flay's new relationship with Williamson.
"All the headlines about him unveiling his new girlfriend include me in them!" Cavallari exclaimed. "They claim that I rejected him, which we discussed on the podcast. It wasn't a rejection; we cleared everything up." She further emphasized that she had "never rejected" Flay, branding the situation as "silly," and underlining that the celebrated chef is "one of my good friends."
Cavallari elaborated on the misunderstanding, recounting Flay's own explanation during an October 2024 appearance on her podcast. "I sent you a DM asking if I could take you to dinner while I was in Nashville for one night," Flay recounted. "And you responded by saying something like, 'I'm already seeing someone.'"
Cavallari, who shares three children with her ex-husband, former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, whom she was married to for nine years, clarified that she wasn't open to dating anyone at that moment. However, Flay insisted that his invitation was purely platonic. "You mentioned you had started seeing someone," he recalled. "And I said, 'I just want to have dinner with you.'"
