Kristen Stewart's recent remarks urging people to halt their burger purchases during the daytime to aid in protecting immigrants from ICE have sparked a wave of online ridicule. This came shortly after heightened anti-ICE protests, following the tragic deaths of Alex Pretti and Renée Nicole Good in Minnesota. She's not the only celebrity to face backlash for their comments on ICE; singer Billie Eilish was also slammed for her assertion that no one is illegal on "stolen land" at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
In a recent red carpet interview, the 35-year-old actress, dressed in a stunning butter yellow bra top with a shaggy mullet, made the comment while attending an event celebrating Architectural Digest's new edition in West Hollywood. She was asked to share what would break her heart if it disappeared from Los Angeles, and she replied, "Immigrants."

"I can't stand the idea of the dismantling of the culture that had a hand in making me who I am, which is so meaningless in the face of people's lives being completely unearthed and destroyed," she added. "This is not who we are. Where I'm from, I don't identify with that right now."
It appears the situation has taken a toll on Stewart, as she explained that she was "dying every day" thinking of ways she could help. "Do we make movies about this? Do we throw all of our money at it? Do we stop buying burgers in the daytime? What do we do about this?" she continued. "I can't fathom that it's happening until it doesn't happen. Los Angeles doesn't exist without all of us."
Stewart's comment quickly went viral online, particularly on X, where many users expressed confusion about the link between eating burgers and protecting illegal immigrants. One user sarcastically wrote, "Looks like she solved America's problems! Just don't buy burgers and everything will be fine." Another confused user asked, "What in the hell does not buying burgers during the day even mean??" Another stated, "For someone who talked a lot, she really didn't say anything."
One X user commented, "Imagine being a border agent and hearing you have to stand down because the girl from 'Twilight' skipped her afternoon fries." Another person added, "Didn't she tell us she was leaving the U.S.? Please head over to Italy to visit the Volturi so we can finally put an end to little Miss Bella Swan!"
