Earlier this week, NBC News fueled the rumors further with sightings of Gaga and Dion arriving in Paris ahead of the global multisport competition. In social media videos, the "A Star Is Born" actress was spotted waving to her ardent fans outside her car in the French capital, adding to the excitement surrounding the opening ceremony.

Gaga, a Grammy and Oscar-winning performer, has been busy filming the eagerly anticipated "Joker: Folie à Deux," where she portrays Harley Quinn opposite Joaquin Phoenix's iconic Arthur Fleck/Joker, and headlining her Las Vegas residency show, titled "Enigma + Jazz & Piano." In 2022, she traversed the globe on her seventh headline concert tour, "The Chromatica Ball," in support of her sixth studio album, "Chromatica."

The "Bad Romance" artist's Olympic opening ceremony performance marks her triumphant return to the televised stage since her heartfelt rendition of "Hold My Hand" at the 95th Academy Awards last year. The song from "Top Gun: Maverick" was nominated for Best Original Song, adding to Gaga's illustrious musical legacy.

According to French newspaper Le Parisien, Dion is set to perform "L'Hymne à l'amour" by Édith Piaf at the Olympics. This would be the "My Heart Will Go On" singer's triumphant return to the stage after her recent revelation of Stiff Person Syndrome and the subsequent cancellation of her Courage World Tour.

The opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics will air live on NBC, commencing at 1:30 p.m. ET on Friday, and will also be streamed on Peacock and NBC Olympics platforms, bringing the magic and grandeur of this momentous occasion to a global audience.
