Lamar Odom opened up about his aspirations for mending fences with his ex-wife, Khloé Kardashian, during a guest appearance on The Kyle & Jackie O Show on Monday, January 20th. In an intimate revelation, Odom recounted the unexpected chain of events that led to his recent reconciliation with his former spouse. He shared that he chance-met Kardashian's closest confidant, Malika Haqq, in Las Vegas last year, and it was she who brokered the idea of a reunion. "[Malika] approached me and said, 'Lamar, I believe it's time for you and Khloé to reconnect,'" he recounted. "'Years have flown by, and you haven't seen her. If you're open to it, I think I can facilitate it for you.'"

A fleeting glimpse of this heartfelt encounter was featured in a teaser for the upcoming season of The Kardashians, capturing the NBA veteran arriving at Kardashian's doorstep with roses in hand. "When I got there, cameras were already rolling, and I thought, 'Oh, alright. It's fine, I get it,'" he elaborated, adding, "So much water has passed under the bridge, and people evolve. I genuinely believe for the better."

Odom and Kardashian's marital journey was tumultuous, with their whirlwind romance leading to a wedding after just a month of dating in 2009, followed by a divorce in 2013 amidst infidelity and a drug relapse on Odom's part. Kardashian didn't officially initiate divorce proceedings until 2015, after Odom's near-fatal overdose that year, and their separation was finalized in 2016.

"It would be a genuine blessing just to be her friend," Odom expressed on the radio show, later addressing the hosts' probing questions about any lingering affections for Kardashian. "You're still in love with her," co-host Kyle Sandilands asserted. "Do you wish to be with her? Do you want her back? You can admit it." "I don't mind," Odom replied philosophically. "I think it's healthy to sometimes let go and move forward, in a healthy manner. As I've said, being just friends, being around her, would be a blessing."

Khloé's sister Kim Kardashian and mother Kris Jenner were equally astounded by the news of Odom's reappearance, as evidenced in the preview clip where they were visibly moved. "Honestly, I believe timing plays a crucial role," Khloé confessed to her family. "You guys will never guess who I met with." "Who?" Kim inquired, with a man's foot visible exiting a car. "This is crazy," Kim continued as Odom stepped into a home, bearing a bouquet of red roses.

In her confessional, Jenner tearfully remarked, "He was the love of her life." Khloé added, "I don't recognize this person anymore," before her mother declared she was "devastated for [her] daughter." The segment hinted at a potential reconciliation between Khloé and Lamar, concluding with Khloé shouting to her family, "It's the truth. The truth hurts once. A lie hurts a thousand times over."

Season 6 of The Kardashians premieres on Hulu on Thursday, February 6th, with fresh episodes dropping every Thursday at midnight ET.
