Leonardo DiCaprio's mustachioed appearance is here to make a lasting impression. The 51-year-old actor, along with his long-time collaborator Martin Scorsese and Apple TV, unveiled a captivating first-look image of DiCaprio and his co-star Jennifer Lawrence in their upcoming film, "What Happens at Night," on Instagram on Thursday, March 19th. The photo beautifully captures the two actors strolling hand-in-hand across a snowy backdrop, with a car looming in the distance. DiCaprio sports the mustache he debuted at the 98th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 15th.

"What Happens at Night" is now in the production phase, according to the simple yet impactful caption accompanying the movie's image. This marks the seventh feature film collaboration between DiCaprio and Scorsese after their 2023 film "Killers of the Flower Moon." The film follows DiCaprio and Lawrence, 35, as a married American couple who embark on a journey to a small, snowy European town to adopt a baby. As they check into a eerie hotel, intriguing mysteries start to unfold.
Deadline first reported in September 2025 that Scorsese, 83, would helm "What Happens at Night," an adaptation of author Peter Cameron's novel of the same name. Welker White, Patricia Clarkson, Mads Mikkelsen, and Jared Harris also star in the movie, per Deadline. DiCaprio first showcased his mustachioed look in "What Happens at Night" when he and girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti stepped out for a rare public date night at the Oscars on March 15th. DiCaprio was nominated for Best Actor for his performance in "One Battle After Another," his eighth career Oscar nomination (he won in 2016 for his role in "The Revenant"). Although DiCaprio didn't win Best Actor - Michael B. Jordan won that award for his performance in "Sinners" - "One Battle After Another" emerged as the night's top winner, taking home six awards, including Best Picture.
A release date for "What Happens at Night" has not been announced yet. In February, Deadline also reported that Scorsese and DiCaprio are developing another movie that would feature the actor alongside Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt in a Hawaii-set crime thriller. The same outlet also reported in October that DiCaprio is considering a role in "Heat 2," a sequel to Michael Mann's iconic 1995 crime thriller, to portray the character Val Kilmer played in the original.
