Kate Cassidy may have embarked on a new chapter of love more than a year after the passing of Liam Payne. Since the One Direction member's demise in 2024, Kate, who was in a two-year relationship with Liam at the time of his death, has been candid about her journey through grief. And now, it appears that journey includes venturing back into the realm of romance.
In a March 16 TikTok video, the 26-year-old and a mystery man, tagged as Michael, walk a few steps before he swoops her up in a bridal-style gesture and spins her around. The video's audio is set to "Hopelessly Devoted to You" by Olivia Newton-John, with Kate playfully adding a black heart emoji in the caption. Days earlier, Kate shared another video with the same man, adding several heart emojis in the caption, "Ugh."

As she has kept fans of Liam - who performed in One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson - updated on how she has navigated life without the "Strip That Down" singer, many expressed their support in the comments.
"As a young widow who is dating again, I approve this message," one fan wrote. "We love you, Kate. We all miss Liam and always will, but you deserve to feel love again. It's going to be different, as it should be. It's honestly amazing. I know my man is cheering me on, as is Liam to you."
Another commented on Kate's radiant expression in the video, adding, "Happiness looks so good on you, babes."
Kate's update comes just over a month after she shared an update on her healing journey, noting that she was able to get through Valentine's Day without crying this year.
"You don't move on from grief," she wrote in a Feb. 14 TikTok post. "You move forward with it, carrying love in a different form. Keep living. Keep going. Live your life as fully as you possibly can."
Meanwhile, Liam's other loved ones have expressed how they continue to move forward since his fatal, accidental fall from a Buenos Aires hotel balcony at age 31. As Liam's former bandmate Harry released his fourth studio album earlier this month, he spoke about how shaken he was by Liam's death.
"It was a really important moment for me in terms of taking a look at my life and being able to say to myself, 'OK, what do I want to do with my life? How do I want to live my life?'" he said during a March 4 interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe. "And I think the greatest way you can honor your friends who pass away is by living your life to the fullest."
