Lil Jon and his loved ones are gradually finding solace after the tragic loss of his son, Nathan Smith, also known as DJ Young Slade. On February 3rd, the rapper's son was reported missing in Georgia, and his body was found three days later, outside his family's home. The Fulton County Medical Examiner has now released the cause of death.
According to an autopsy report obtained by E! News, Nathan's death was caused by "drowning in the setting of psilocybin use." The report also confirms that Smith's blood tested positive for "a pharmacologically active hallucinogenic compound of psilocybin—hallucinogenic mushrooms."

The report further confirms that the 27-year-old was recovered from a water retention pond, noting the presence of water-immersion wrinkling in his hands. E! News reached out to the Fulton County Medical Examiner for comment but has not yet received a response.
Lil Jon (real name Jonathan H. Smith) issued a statement on behalf of his family, including his wife, Nicole Smith, following the devastating news. "I am extremely heartbroken for the tragic loss of our son, Nathan Smith," he said. "His mother and I are devastated."
Amidst this challenging time, the "Turn Down For What" rapper took a moment to reflect on his son's legacy. "Nathan was the kindest human being you would ever meet," he continued. "He was immensely caring, thoughtful, polite, passionate, and warm-hearted—he loved his family and the friends in his life to the fullest."
Indeed, the 55-year-old went on to share the many accomplishments that his son achieved in his short life, including his graduation from New York University and his work as a music producer, artist, and engineer. "We loved Nathan with all of our hearts and are incredibly proud of him," he added. "He was loved and appreciated, and in our last times together, we're comforted in knowing that we expressed that very sentiment to him."
