Lily Collins and Ashley Park's friendship is a sweet, sisterly bond that transcends the realm of "Emily in Paris" and into the real world. While the Netflix show's costars have made it clear that their bond is as genuine offscreen as it is onscreen, Lily recently revealed that Ashley even played a special role in her 2021 wedding to husband Charlie McDowell. "Ashley sang at our wedding," Lily, 36, told Today in an interview published on December 20. "Her voice was absolutely stunning." And for Ashley, 34, the honor was overwhelming. "It was for a really meaningful part of the ceremony," she told the outlet in a separate interview. "And that was probably the most nervous and honored I've ever been."

Since the show's premiere in 2020, the Love, Rosie star and Beef actress have witnessed incredible milestones in each other's lives. "I saw her get engaged, then she got married, and now she's a mom," Ashley explained. "So for me, I can't believe we get to do this. And yes, we're in Venice, but it's really cool to do with your best friend."
According to Lily, who shares daughter Tove, 11 months, with Charlie, their bond was instantaneous. "It was a magnetic experience right away—like soul sistership right off the bat," she added. But getting to share the success of "Emily in Paris," which dropped season 5 on Netflix December 18, is the real reward. "When you're doing it with a best friend and like a sister, it becomes a life experience that I don't think we were expecting back then," Lily shared. "It's more than just a show. It's like this has been our lives for six years, and we've gone through so many ups and downs together that this feels like a celebration of not only a fifth season but of the sisterhood, and that's really special."
However, Ashley previously revealed that their onscreen bond was tested during the show's most recent season. "They've never had this sisterhood be pulled out from under them or be cracked in any way," Ashley, who plays Mindy, told E! News in a joint interview with Lily, who plays Emily, published on December 18. "That's also not only going to deepen and strengthen when they reconcile but also really helps them shape part of who they are individually as well." And Lily emphasized the importance of testing their character's friendship, adding, "For us, it's always our friendship and our relationship that is so important to us, to maintain, to uphold, to celebrate, to challenge."
