Lizzo Is “Still Bad” On Latest Comeback Single

Published: Mar 14 2025

On Thursday, Lizzo unveiled her latest single, "Still Bad," marking the second offering from her forthcoming fifth album, Love In Real Life. "Still Bad" resonates as a vintage Lizzo track, a funky and upbeat pop anthem where the singer triumphantly emerges from heartbreak, boldly declaring, "I need a drink, not him," as she endeavors to "transform pain into bubbly champagne." This tune is a collaborative effort between Lizzo and Blake Slatkin, who co-produced her hit "About Damn Time," alongside her long-standing partner-in-rhyme, Ricky Reed, the producer behind many of her biggest successes, such as "Juice," "Good as Hell," and "Truth Hurts."

Following the lead single and title track, "Love In Real Life," for her upcoming album (which still awaits an official release date), "Still Bad" continues to pave the way for Lizzo's highly anticipated return. Love in Real Life will serve as Lizzo's first album since Special, which garnered a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year.

Amidst multiple sexual harassment lawsuits filed by former employees in 2023, Lizzo's latest single marks her resilient comeback. Denying the allegations and opening up about the accusations in a poignant podcast interview with Keke Palmer in December, Lizzo admitted to feeling "blindsided." Prior to the release, Lizzo treated Los Angeles fans to an intimate concert at the Wiltern on Wednesday night, her first show since the lawsuits surfaced. During her performance, she poured her heart out, sharing the depths of her pain, revealing, "I was so heartbroken by the world and so deeply hurt that I didn't want to live anymore."

Adding to her string of intimate concerts, Lizzo will grace the stage at Irving Plaza in New York on March 16 and then at First Avenue in Minneapolis on March 18, continuing her triumphant return with each note she sings.
