After the loss of their former bandmate Liam Payne, the surviving members of One Direction have grown closer than ever before. Louis Tomlinson is shedding light on the renewed dynamic within the group, though he's not entirely sure how long this newfound closeness will last. "I suppose that we'll see in time," the 34-year-old pop star told Billboard. "Naturally, there's a closeness – it definitely feels closer than it was. But I think we're all so busy, it's hard to keep that consistency."

Tomlinson also spoke about the aftermath of the band's hiatus in 2016. "It was really freaking scary," he told the outlet. "I never thought, 'I'll be in that group [of One Direction alumni] that succeeds.'" He continued, "There might be one or two people from a band that prosper, but history says there's not normally more than two. ... I always knew Harry [Styles] was going to go on to do what he's done – I'm sure he's surpassed his own expectations in the way that he's taken over the world, but we knew he had everything it takes to be a great artist. And Niall, I had a good feeling about him too – he's Irish, he's lovely, everyone loves him."
In preparation for the release of his third solo album, How Did I Get Here?, Louis Tomlinson is brimming with excitement and anticipation for what the future holds for him and his remaining bandmates.
