"An unforeseen encounter: invaluable." A24 has unveiled the third and ultimate trailer for the romantic comedy "Materialists," the sophomore feature by the esteemed writer-director Celine Song, who previously captivated audiences with her beloved hit "Past Lives." Clarifying the title's elegance, it's simply "Materialists," a tale of the glitzy elite who call the Big Apple their home.

Love? In This Economy? Official Trailer #3 for 'Materialists' RomCom 1

Dakota Johnson shines as the central figure in this heartwarming tale – Lucy, whose matchmaking prowess is eagerly sought by those willing to shell out big bucks for her services, especially the cream of New York City society. As Lucy navigates the bustling streets of NYC, she finds herself entangled in a mesmerizing love triangle in this enchanting, steamy film helmed by Celine Song. A spirited, aspirational matchmaker in the heart of New York City finds herself caught between her dream match and her flawed ex. Johnson stars as Lucy, with Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal as the two men vying for her affections, joined by an ensemble that includes Zoë Winters, Marin Ireland, Dasha Nekrasova, Louisa Jacobson, and Sawyer Spielberg.

This final trailer playsfully echoes the iconic Mastercard commercials by putting a price tag on everything, illustrating the exorbitant cost of living in NYC. "Some people just want more," it teases, as if to say, "All I can afford is a beer and a coke." In "Materialists," Lucy's lucrative business takes a turn for the complex when she finds herself ensnared in a toxic love triangle that jeopardizes her clients' happiness. This young, ambitious perfectionist in the city that never sleeps is torn between her ideal match and her imperfect past.

Written and directed by Korean-Canadian filmmaker Celine Song, "Materialists" marks her second film following her acclaimed directorial debut with "Past Lives." A celebrated playwright with a resume of TV writing credits under her belt, Song has assembled a powerhouse team for this production, including producers David Hinojosa, Christine Vachon, Pamela Koffler, and herself. To our knowledge, the film hasn't premiered at any festivals or other venues yet. A24 will introduce Celine Song's "Materialists" to select US theaters starting June 13th, 2025, during the height of summer movie season.

Intriguing, isn't it? Who's eager to catch this one?
