Kwame Appiah, a star from the hit series "Love Is Blind," is issuing a poignant warning to others: never turn a blind eye to your health needs. In a heartfelt revelation shared on his Instagram page on January 16th, Kwame opened up about a harrowing medical ordeal he recently underwent. It all began in November 2024 when he felt "a lingering sense of unease," yet admitted with hindsight that he regretfully dismissed it initially.
"By December, when I finally sought medical attention, I had been battling fevers for nearly three weeks," confessed the 34-year-old in a poignant video. "I had shed 20 pounds, prompting the doctor to consider an array of possibilities—cancer being one of them."
Fortunately, the reality TV personality, who tied the knot with Chelsea Griffin during the Season 4 finale of the Netflix show, was spared from cancer. Instead, he was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, a chronic condition characterized by inflammation and ulceration in the colorectal area. Having experienced the illness in its most severe form, Kwame imparted the lessons he garnered from his trial.

"Information is paramount," he continued. "Knowing your symptoms is crucial if you are to conquer them."
Kwame concluded his message with a heartfelt expression of gratitude, extending his thanks to his supporters and his wife of two years.
"I conclude this with an overflow of gratitude," he said. "Gratitude for regaining my health, gratitude for the outpouring of love and support, and gratitude to Chelsea, who stood by me throughout this trying journey."
