Martin Freeman offers a rare glimpse into his romance with French actress Rachel Benaissa. The pair, who recently made a rare red carpet appearance together at the Olivier Awards held at London's Royal Albert Hall, began their love story approximately three years ago. The 'Sherlock' actor and the Toulouse-bred actress are notoriously private about their personal lives, shunning the limelight and public engagements. However, during a recent sit-down on the 'Jessie and Lennie Ware's Table Manners' podcast, the 53-year-old 'Hobbit' star shed some light on their coupledom.
Freeman revealed how they enjoy spending quality time together, particularly in the kitchen. When Lennie inquired about the 30-year-old's culinary inclinations, playfully asking, "She's French. Is she [Rachel] a Cordon Bleu chef?", Freeman chuckled and responded, "She's not a Cordon Bleu...she's more of a cheese and wine enthusiast extraordinaire. That's her self-description, actually."
The English thespian continued, his voice tinged with affection, "Of course, there's more to her than that, but yes, she adores all things gourmet. We both share a passion for cooking."
It's worth noting that the Emmy-award winner was previously married to Amanda Abbington, with whom he has two children: Joe, now 18, and Grace, 16.
