The nephew of the legendary Michael Jackson has expressed his discontent with the media coverage surrounding the upcoming biopic, 'Michael,' which is a film that explores the life of the iconic musician. In a series of posts on X, Taj Jackson, the son of the late pop star's brother Tito Jackson, declares that the media no longer has control over the narrative of who Michael Jackson truly was. He writes, "Sorry media, you don't get to control the narrative anymore. The public will watch this movie and decide for themselves. And you can't handle that."

In a subsequent post, he adds, "I can't wait for some critics to have to eat their words. And yes, I will be that petty." This statement comes just days before the release of the Antoine Fuqua-directed biopic, which stars Jackson's nephew Jaafar Jackson in his feature debut as the singer, alongside Colman Domingo as his father Joe Jackson and Nia Long as his mother Katherine.
'Michael' has mostly received negative reviews ahead of its release and holds a 36% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing. The film, which was approved and financed by the late pop singer's estate, follows Jackson from his early years in the Jackson 5 to his solo stardom in 1988 during his 'Bad' album tour. However, the decision to end the story at this point has sparked backlash as it fails to engage with the child sexual abuse allegations made against him before his death in 2009, instead omitting them entirely. Michael Jackson denied all claims made against him throughout his lifetime.
