In the poignant caption accompanying a photo from Trachtenberg's teenage years, de Cadenet wrote, "My dear Michelle, waking up to such heartbreaking news this morning is surreal and distressing. It feels odd and painful to pen these words, but I must acknowledge your passing, for you held a special place in my heart."

Continuing her tribute, de Cadenet reminisced, "I will forever cherish the memory of the vibrant young woman I once photographed... and more recently, the sight of your face amidst the hospital bedsheets during our FaceTime call, where despite your altered appearance, your inherent sweetness and humor continued to shine through."

Within the past year, Trachtenberg had undergone a liver transplant, and according to reliable sources, it is speculated that her body may have rejected the organ, ultimately leading to her demise from natural causes.

"I refrain from disclosing the intimate details of our conversations over the past six months," de Cadenet noted solemnly, "but you were acutely aware of the high likelihood of death, and I am deeply saddened that a better outcome was not destined for you." She concluded her heartfelt message with, "May you find peace in your transition, my dear friend, and may your spirit finally find rest."

The news of Trachtenberg's passing was first reported by The Post. Sources revealed that her mother discovered her at their luxurious Manhattan apartment in Central Park South neighborhood around 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

"It is with profound sadness that we confirm the passing of Michelle Trachtenberg," her representative, Gary Mantoosh, stated in an official announcement to The Post. "The family kindly requests privacy during this difficult time. No further details are available at present," he added.

Law enforcement authorities have deemed her death non-suspicious, and the city medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death.

Among the numerous tributes paid to the late actress on Wednesday was de Cadenet's poignant message. Fellow "Gossip Girl" stars Blake Lively and Ed Westwick, her "Harriet the Spy" co-star Rosie O'Donnell, and her "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" castmates James Marsters and Alyson Hannigan were among those who mourned her loss.

Trachtenberg's long-time partner, Hollywood talent agent Jay Cohen, also issued a statement, stating, "The family will not be commenting on this tragic event," when approached by a Daily Mail reporter at their shared Los Angeles residence.
