Hannah Montana enthusiasts are poised to revel in a blend of nostalgia and novelty, as Miley Cyrus teases an announcement of something "utterly extraordinary" to commemorate the show's 20th anniversary next year. In a recent guest spot on SiriusXM's TikTok Radio, the Grammy-adorned singer fondly reminisced about the series that ignited her career nearly two decades prior. It was on March 24, 2006, that Hannah Montana premiered on Disney Channel.
"I yearn to create something truly, deeply special for this milestone, for it was indeed the genesis of everything I stand for today," Cyrus shared with host Chris Olsen, referring to the upcoming jubilee. "Without Hannah, I dare say, this version of me wouldn't exist. It's almost surreal to contemplate that I embarked on this journey as a character I thought I'd never outgrow. Now, whenever I enter a space, it evokes a wave of nostalgia, a reminder from one's childhood. Yet, I've seamlessly integrated into everyone's lives, embodying that character. It's thrilling to celebrate such a transformation."
From 2006 to 2011, and in the 2009 film Hannah Montana: The Movie, Cyrus portrayed the iconic character across four seasons. The show revolved around a teenage pop sensation who concealed her identity even from her closest friends, adopting a disguise for her stage persona. The ensemble also included her real-life father, Billy Ray Cyrus, alongside Emily Osment, Mitchel Musso, and Jason Earles.
Beyond the television screens, Hannah Montana spawned numerous albums and chart-topping singles such as "He Could Be The One," "Life’s What You Make It," "Nobody’s Perfect," and "Let’s Get Crazy," among others. In 2007, Cyrus embarked on her inaugural headlining tour, the Best of Both Worlds Tour, in tandem with her album Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus.
Once the Disney Channel series concluded and Cyrus bid farewell to her alter ego Hannah Montana, her career soared like never before. She spearheaded several films, including LOL, So Undercover, and The Last Song. Over the years, Cyrus has also released several acclaimed albums—Bangerz (2013), SHE IS COMING (2019), Endless Summer Vacation (2023), and her most recent, Something Beautiful (2025). Her song "Flowers" even garnered her first Grammy Awards last year for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
