Millie Bobby Brown asserted her independence from red carpet conventions with unwavering confidence. At the London premiere of Stranger Things' fifth season, the 21-year-old actress posed in a dramatic Ashi Studio autumn 2025 couture ensemble, only to be interrupted by a photographer's impromptu command: "Smile!"
Without hesitation, Brown retorted, "Smile? You tell me to smile?" while gesturing towards the photographers, then turned away from the cameras with a resolute step off the carpet. The photos captured her genuine frustration as she exited, her expression a testament to her unyielding personality.

For the event, Brown donned a structured black corset layered with flowing black tulle, ruched at the hips and extending into a long train. She completed the look with custom Aldo pumps adorned with "011," a subtle nod to her character on the series.
The London stop was just one of many press events in a week-long celebration of the show's final season. At the Los Angeles premiere, she arrived hand in hand with her husband, Jake Bongiovi, who wore a crimson velvet suit paired with a white shirt and black tie, while Brown opted for a fitted black lace Rodarte gown with feather accents, styled with Aldo heels and Chopard jewelry.
With a playful joke to Variety, she explained that she chose black "for the funeral of the show," adding, "This dress embodies the darkness of the show this season. I'm genuinely excited for everyone to witness how dark it gets."
Inside the event, she switched into a maroon corset with ivory lace trim and a matching mini skirt, posing alongside Bongiovi. Stranger Things Season 5, Volume 1 premieres on November 26 on Netflix, followed by Volume 2 on December 25 and the finale on December 31.
