Milly Alcock is poised to embark on a journey as Supergirl, yet before diving into the superhero realm, she confessed a surprising revelation: her unfamiliarity with the genre. She disclosed that she hadn't watched any of the iconic superheroes, whether it was Black Widow, Captain Marvel, or Wonder Woman. "It's probably not the best starting point," Alcock candidly shared with Variety. "I could have just lied!"

In another part of the interview, the actress recalled the onslaught of trolling that ensued after her candid remarks. She delved into the toxic obsession the internet holds over women's bodies. "Simply existing as a woman in that space is something that people feel compelled to comment on," she said in March. "We've become so comfortable with this bizarre ownership of women's bodies," she added to Vanity Fair at the time.
The wave of criticism that followed her statements was intense, and Alcock reflected on it candidly. "I didn't even mention 'men'—I said 'people'!'" she shared. "And they got so angry. It was like, 'You're proving my point. You're proving my point!'"
The House of the Dragon breakout star pointed out that most of the criticism came from faceless trolls. "It's from a lot of people whose profiles have no photo, who are using burner accounts," she noted. "Or someone's name followed by 'Dad of four, Christian,' which is hilarious to me." She added, "But whose opinion do you really care about? If you're pissing off the right kind of people, you're doing just fine."
Supergirl soars into cinemas on June 26th, ready to ignite a new chapter in the superhero world.
