Following a tumultuous night, Kris Boyd is now receiving the necessary medical attention. According to NBC News, the New York Jets cornerback was hospitalized after being shot in Manhattan early on November 16th. The New York Police Department reported that officers responded to the Sei Less restaurant in Midtown shortly after 2 a.m., where they discovered Boyd, 29, with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was subsequently rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
The incident unfolded after a fight involving Boyd, as per a law enforcement source who shared with NBC News that the bullet had lodged in the NFL star's lung. However, no arrests have been made in connection with the case as of yet.

Meanwhile, the Jets "are aware of the situation" involving Boyd, a spokesperson for the team said in a statement to NBC News, adding that the organization "will have no further comment at this time."
Boyd's journey in the NFL began when he was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2019 and stayed with them until 2022. He subsequently played for the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans before signing a one-year contract with the Jets in March, though he was placed on injured reserve in August.
As the situation continues to unfold, Boyd's teammate Jermaine Johnson II urged fans to keep the wounded player in their thoughts. "Everybody please send prayers to my brother and teammate Kris Boyd and his family," the linebacker wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "Lord please hold your healing hand over Kris and guide him back to health and safety. Lord I ask that you please just get him through this safely. In your name, Amen."
