Nicole Kidman is spilling some juicy truths about the making of "Big Little Lies." Apparently, "bad breath doesn't turn me on," and the Oscar winner revealed that she had specific instructions for her co-star, Alexander Skarsgård, before shooting a kissing scene for their HBO series.
"When Alexander Skarsgård munched on a falafel sandwich before we filmed the scenes in 'Big Little Lies'," Nicole recalled on the Las Culturistas podcast on March 11th, "I was like, 'No, no, no, Alex. I'm supposed to be kissing you intimately. Put away the falafel. Now.'"
"I'm sure he didn't touch another falafel after that," she laughed. "I said, 'No more falafel. Not before you kiss. Not before you make love. No more falafel. Hide that thing away.'"
And it wasn't just Alexander's lunch that left a bad taste in Nicole's mouth. The 58-year-old, who recently spoke out about her divorce from Keith Urban, explained that bad breath in general is a "deal-breaker."
"You could be the most gorgeous guy, and you come at me with bad breath," Nicole confessed. "And I'm like, 'No, no, no.'"
"If I say, 'Breathe on me,' and I have to recoil?" she continued. "Yikes, I'm out. You could not offer me enough money."
Especially since the "Nine Perfect Strangers" star—who shares daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, with Keith and kids Isabella Cruise, 32, and Connor Cruise, 30, with ex-husband Tom Cruise—has a heightened sense of smell. That's why she was "relieved" when she temporarily lost her ability to detect odors when she contracted COVID-19.
"I was in a good way," Nicole said with a laugh. "Finally, I was free."
So, who does she think has the best-smelling celebrity? Rihanna.
"Just know it's all true," Nicole quipped about the "Umbrella" singer's reported alluring aroma. "It's intoxicating. It's like, 'I will follow you around.'"
