North West's words of wisdom to her mother, Kim Kardashian, during her initial reluctance to attend the 2025 Met Gala due to fit issues with her skin-tight, black leather dress from Chrome Hearts, were nothing short of poignant. "You have to go," she declared in behind-the-scenes footage from The Kardashians' November 27 episode. "What's the worst that could happen? People hate on your outfit? They do that every year." To cheer Kim up, North presented her with bouquets of flowers and added, "You just have to go—that's it."

Despite Kim's initial reservations, she ultimately walked up the iconic steps of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art in her figure-hugging look, with her team making last-minute adjustments to the dress to ensure a perfect fit. Kim later told Vogue that North is a "big critiquer" of her fashion, though the tween has gotten "pretty good" at delivering feedback.
"She's also in a really positive place right now," Kim added, sharing that even if something isn't her style, she won't critique it. "Just be you and if you like that, then that's what you should be into."
However, it wasn't always this way for North. In a previous episode of The Kardashians, she likened Kim's Balenciaga outfit at the 2021 Met Gala to a "plastic bag" and said the Schiaparelli dress her mom wore two years later looked like it came from the "dollar store." "It looks like she’s a Hawaiian girl with her dress all ripped," North said of her mom's gown, which featured draping strands of freshwater pearls and crystals. "The pearls look fake." She continued, "It's looking beachy. The diamonds ruin it."
But Kim knows to take North's notes with a grain of salt. "You can't really take it seriously, getting roasted by a 10-year-old," the SKIMS mogul said at the time. "I never do, but it stings a little."
New episodes of The Kardashians release every Thursday on Hulu.
