Olivia Rodrigo unveiled that the muse behind her upcoming album was her initial romantic entanglement. The "Deja Vu" crooner, set to release her new album, "You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love," in June, shared during a recent conversation on "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" that she commenced penning the new album while immersed in her first love. "I embarked on this album-writing journey at a juncture in my life where I was experiencing genuine romantic love for the very first time," Olivia recounted to Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday.

The singer, who reportedly parted ways with actor Louis Partridge in December 2025 after a two-year romance, elaborated, "I realized that the aspect of them that I cherished the most wasn't their unbridled happiness but rather an element of sadness, fear, melancholy, or longing." These emotions "are what truly tugged at your heartstrings and moved you profoundly," she added.

When the host inquired if the "Vampire" singer penned songs during her healing phase, she responded, "There's a lot at play. It's hard to encapsulate it in one word or one specific emotion. It's quite eclectic in a way that I adore. There's so much to unpack within it." She then remarked, "I think it was about self-discovery for me. Discovering myriad aspects of myself and being in a genuine relationship. I believe a good relationship serves as a mirror and reveals parts of yourself that you would have otherwise never seen. There's a considerable amount of introspection involved."

This revelation came after Olivia was spotted enjoying a romantic dinner with 24-year-old Geese frontman Cameron Winter.
