As Pamela Anderson closes in on a year filled with unparalleled success, she is poised to share the intimate details of her time with Liam Neeson, her co-star in the summer blockbuster, The Naked Gun. While the media frenzy surrounding their unexpected romance sparked both euphoria and skepticism, Anderson, now 58, is finally opening up about their private relationship in this week's cover story for PEOPLE magazine.

"If you must know, Liam and I were romantically involved for a brief moment after we wrapped filming," she reveals. The two spent an "intimate week" at his home in upstate New York, with Anderson noting, "I had my own room, but our assistants and even family members joined in on the fun."

During their time together, Neeson took Anderson to dinner at a quaint French restaurant, introducing her as the "future Mrs. Neeson." They spent time in his garden, where Anderson tended to a rosebush overgrown with mint. "I was happy to help, and he appreciated it," she says with a smile.

Following what she refers to as their "romantic lost week," during which Neeson chased off a bear from the breakfast window in his bathrobe, they "went their separate ways to work on other films," Anderson explains.

Their reunion while promoting The Naked Gun over the summer was filled with cuddles and hand-holding, with Anderson even giving Neeson a playful swipe of her Sonsie lip balm on Andy Cohen's What Happens Live. "We were having fun," she says, describing their connection as "a little bit like a Nancy Meyers film."

"I always laughed when people thought, 'Oh, that's a publicity stunt.' I'm like, 'A publicity stunt? This is real. We have real feelings,'" she adds. "I adore Liam," she continues honestly, "but we are better friends."

Their last encounter was in August when Neeson surprised Anderson by attending her performance at the prestigious Williamstown Theater Festival, where she was performing Tennessee Williams' Camino Real. "He is such a supporter of this new trajectory in my career and kindly tells me he is very proud of me," she says. "I'm sure we will always be in each other's lives."
