Paris Jackson, Michael Jackson's daughter, believes that her critics can just "beat it." Indeed, the "Let Down" singer—who was just 11 years old when the King of Pop passed away in 2009—shared that she no longer feels the pressure to tell the world about her connection with her father.

"I'm now learning that I can have my own personal relationship, and I'm allowed to keep it private," Paris said in a recent episode of the Trying Not to Die podcast. "I'm now like, my relationship with my dad is the most beautiful relationship ever."

The 28-year-old added that her mindset has shifted. "I'm in a very beautiful spot with my dad and I love that. It's no one's business, and I don't have to share that with anybody. There's a lot of freedom in that, which is really cool."

In the past, Paris admitted that she felt an expectation to publicly commemorate Michael—who also had Prince, 29, and Bigi, 24—on his birthday, death day, and Father's Day.

"That has drastically changed in the last few years," she continued. "I don't really feel like any of us owe anyone anything."

Plus, Paris emphasized that she didn't want to "mimic how a fan would express their love" for her dad.

"I'm not going to express my love in a copycat way, copying someone that didn't know him," she shared. "Because I did. That was my best friend."

In recent years, Paris has been slightly more forthcoming when it comes to her relationship with her mom Debbie Rowe, whom she reconnected with when she was 15 and has since developed a special bond with.

"It's just cool having her as a friend," the singer-songwriter said in an interview on Red Table Talk in 2021. "It's cool getting to know her, seeing how similar we are, and getting into what kind of music she really likes. She really likes country and folk, so I sent her some of the stuff I'm working on."

And now, the mother-daughter duo continues to stay connected. In fact, Paris believes she and her mom are quite similar, writing on Instagram earlier this month, "Happy mothers day to the lady they used for my template during the cloning process."
