Eva Longoria Reveals She's Never Watched Desperate Housewives

Eva Longoria is not inclined to revisit Wisteria Lane, the setting of her former show, Desperate Housewives. Despite the show's enduring popularity and the fact that everyone seems to be re-watching it, she has not even bothered to check it out during its eight-season run or since. "I keep getting notifications like, 'Do you wanna watch Housewives?'" she shared with Jesse Tyler Ferguson on his Dinner's On Me podcast. "I go, 'No, I don't. I'm fine. I made it.'"

When it comes to the possibility of reprising her role as Gabrielle Solis in a continuation of the series, Eva revealed that the show's creator, Marc Cherry, "never wants to." She explained that during the original run of the show, they were doing 24 episodes a year for a decade, and there was no room for anything less. "Marc’s like, ‘We fully mined the characters.’ And I was like, I can't sleep with one more person on the street,'" she laughed. "Like, I literally have slept with everybody."

However, if the opportunity did arise, Eva has previously expressed her willingness to be a part of it. "Believe me, I would be the first to sign up," she shared on Good Day New York in 2022. "Like, I'm already on Wisteria Lane, and I'd be like 'sign me up.'"

While there are currently no plans for a revival of Desperate Housewives, a spinoff is in the works, produced by Kerry Washington. Eva's fellow alum Felicity Huffman is eagerly anticipating its release. "I'm completely 100% behind it," she told E! News in 2025. "Kerry Washington—it's so great that she's doing it with women of color. It's exactly what's needed."

Felicity hopes that the spinoff will capture the same unique tone and appeal of the original series, which also starred Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, and Nicollette Sheridan. "Marc has a very specific voice, and that singular voice resonated with people," she explained. "And the way he created those women's friendships—the friendship is key."
