During a lively round of "Hot Ones Versus," Patricia Arquette recently shared an intriguing anecdote with her "Severance" co-star Adam Scott, revealing how her former actor spouse had once betrayed a mutual agreement they had concerning intimacy scenes in film and television. "Back when I was married to someone, we were both incredibly young and impressionable," Arquette recounted with a touch of nostalgia tinged with irony. "We struck a pact: if either of us had to engage in love scenes, we'd consume garlic beforehand. So, I dutifully munched on some garlic ahead of my kissing scene with Ewan McGregor, informing him, 'I'm truly sorry, but I promised my husband I'd have to eat garlic.'"

"Later, when it was his turn to partake in a love scene, I inquisitively asked, 'Did you remember to eat garlic too?' He responded nonchalantly, 'I thought we were just kidding around,'" she continued, her voice dripping with disbelief. "I was utterly flabbergasted, thinking, 'What?!'"

While Arquette refrained from mentioning her ex-husband by name, the "Hot Ones" video cleverly interspersed red carpet snapshots of her alongside Nicolas Cage, subtly hinting at their past marital union, which spanned from 1995 to 2001. It was during this period that Arquette starred opposite McGregor in the 1997 horror flick "Nightwatch," their sole cinematic collaboration, which would have been filmed amidst her marriage to Cage.

"Nightwatch" featured McGregor as a law student moonlighting as a security guard, determined to track down a serial killer. Arquette shone alongside an ensemble cast that included Josh Brolin, Lauren Graham, and Nick Nolte, making the film not only a thriller but also a memorable chapter in her acting journey, tinged with this unexpected personal anecdote.
