Upon further reflection, Patrick Mahomes acknowledges that his celebration post may have sparked confusion among his fans. On February 4th, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback posted a congratulatory message to his teammate, Travis Kelce, alongside three bullseye emojis and the exclamatory "Let's go!!!" The cryptic message ignited a whirlwind of theories among Patrick's followers, ranging from speculations about Travis' future in the NFL to rumors of an elopement with his fiancée, Taylor Swift.

In reality, however, Patrick was simply impressed by Travis' golf skills at the 2026 WM Phoenix Open pro-am competition, where Travis nearly landed a hole-in-one. He followed up his initial post with a more explicit message, writing "Talking about [golf course emoji]," and re-sharing a video of Travis' explosive drive on the 16th hole, captioned "WHAT A DART."
But Patrick wasn't the only one cheering Travis on from afar. Taylor Swift even liked an Instagram video of Travis' tee shot from the Golf Channel, where a sportscaster jokingly predicted that "Taylor Swift's gonna write a song about that one."
It's understandable why Patrick's celebratory post caused such a stir among fans, given the looming uncertainty surrounding Travis' future in football. His contract with the Chiefs ends in March, and he's expressed a desire to make a decision about his return before the draft and free agency open.
When Patrick suffered a season-ending ACL injury in December, Travis addressed the possibility that he might have played his last NFL game with his longtime friend. "Oh man, that's crazy," he remarked during a press conference, adding "It's a unique time of my life."
