Percy Jackson and the Olympians on Disney+ is set to expand its mythological realm with a slew of major cast additions for Season 3, bringing in Holt McCallany as the iconic figure of Atlas and two other pivotal roles.

Mindhunter's Holt McCallany will take on the recurring guest role of Atlas, the Bearer of Heaven, who in Greek mythology was condemned by Zeus to hold up the celestial heavens after the Titans' defeat. In the series, Atlas is freed and sets out to lead Kronos' forces in a renewed war against the Olympians, making him the primary antagonist for Season 3 and a looming threat beyond the season's central storyline.
Breaking Bad's David Costabile will join the cast as Dr. Thorn, a strict military academy headmaster obsessed with discipline and obedience. While readers of the novels will recognize Dr. Thorn as a human disguise for a mythological figure, further details are under wraps. In the books, Percy encounters Dr. Thorn early while attempting to recruit powerful demigods for Camp Half-Blood.
Rent's Jesse L. Martin has also joined the Percy Jackson Season 3 cast as Frederick Chase, Annabeth's father. Described as a brilliant military historian, Frederick is a mortal Athena deemed worthy to raise her daughter. Though their relationship has been complicated, the series will explore their efforts to reconnect.
Season 3 is expected to adapt The Titan's Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan's five-novel Percy Jackson series. The story follows Percy as he attempts to rescue the goddess Artemis and Annabeth after they are captured by Atlas, setting up one of the franchise's most consequential fights.
