Prince Harry Apologizes for Wearing L.A. Dodgers Hat at World Series 2025

Prince Harry, in a display of royal humility, extended a heartfelt apology following the backlash for donning a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap instead of supporting the Toronto Blue Jays during Game Three of the 2025 World Series alongside his wife, Meghan Markle. In an interview with CTV News published on November 6, Harry confessed, "I would like to apologize to Canada for my choice."

However, the 41-year-old royal explained that his apparel decision was somewhat beyond his control, considering he attended the October 28 game with Meghan, a native of LA, and the Dodgers' primary owner, Mark Walter. "I was under duress," Harry quipped. "There wasn't much choice. I was invited to the L.A. Dodgers' box or dugout by the owner himself. So, I was doing what I thought was the polite thing to do."

The author of "Spare" also had a more personal reason to cheer on the U.S. over Canada, which some critics argued he should have supported since it's part of the Commonwealth alongside his native U.K. "The other piece to this," he confessed, "was when you're missing a lot of hair on top and you're sitting under floodlights, you'll take any hat that's available."

Despite the jesting promise that such a blunder wouldn't happen again—even if it made it difficult to return to California, where he lives with Meghan and their two kids, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4—Harry displayed a sincere remorse for his mistake. "I'm going to wear this [Blue Jays hat] from now on to make sure I don't make any more of those mistakes," Harry said after putting on a Blue Jays cap during the interview. "It's going to be hard for me to return back to Los Angeles, but I'm very sorry to the Canadian public and devastated that the Blue Jays lost."

Indeed, the Blue Jays ultimately lost the World Series during Game Seven of the MLB face-off on November 1, with the Dodgers taking home the victory after 11 innings. While Harry may have some regrets about rooting for the winning squad, Meghan couldn't be happier about the outcome. In a video posted on her Instagram Stories on November 1, the With Love, Meghan star jumped and cheered in her home theater before proceeding to plant a kiss on her husband's forehead.
