Charles Spencer pays tribute to his beloved late sister, Princess Diana, by marking the poignant 28th anniversary of her passing. On this solemn occasion, he honored her memory by presenting a beautiful bouquet of freshly cut flowers from the gardens of Althorp Estate to her resting place on a private island within the estate. Sharing a pair of poignant photos on Instagram on August 31st, Charles captioned, "Flowers we gathered this morning from Althorp's lush gardens, destined for the Island. Always an impossibly heart-wrenching day."

Princess Diana's tragic demise occurred on August 31, 1997, when she was just 36 years old. She perished alongside her companion, Dodi al-Fayed, in a car accident in Paris. At the time of her loss, her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, were only 15 and 12 years old respectively. During her funeral procession in London, they, along with their uncle Charles, their father and Diana's ex-husband King Charles III, and their grandfather Prince Philip, solemnly walked behind her casket. Diana was eventually laid to rest on a serene island amidst a lake at Althorp House, her childhood home, where Charles still resides. In addition to Charles, she is also remembered fondly by her elder sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, 70, and Lady Jane Fellowes, 68.

Just a matter of days ago, a time capsule buried by Diana in 1991, six years prior to her death, was opened at the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London. It revealed a treasure trove of items that encapsulated the essence of the early 1990s, including Kylie Minogue's 'Rhythm of Love' album from 1990, a Casio pocket TV, a passport, a copy of the Sunday Times newspaper from the day of the burial, and a photo of Diana, among other cherished mementos.

Last month, on the occasion of Diana's 44th wedding anniversary to her ex-husband, the 9th Earl Spencer fondly reminisced about his sister's legacy by sharing a nostalgic photo of him and Diana as children. Captioning a July 29th Instagram post, Charles wrote, "A long-gone summer's day by the swimming pool at our childhood home, Park House, Sandringham. Diana and I, proudly displaying our swimming badges (stitched onto our swimsuits), awarded sparingly by Mrs. Lansdowne, a formidable yet talented swimming instructor who visited annually. We were rarely out of that pool, our days filled with splashing and laughter."
