Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood have been confirmed to reprise their roles in Searchlight Pictures' highly anticipated sequel to "Ready or Not," titled "Ready or Not: Here I Come," alongside the returning star of the series, Samara Weaving. As production begins in Toronto, the film's ensemble cast has been rounded out with the additions of Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand (from "Abigail"), and acclaimed horror maestro David Cronenberg.
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence, who helmed the first film, return to direct "Ready or Not: Here I Come," along with writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. In the original "Ready or Not," Weaving starred as a bride who discovers her new family's wedding night tradition—a lethal game designed to uphold an age-old pact with the devil. The film was a critical and commercial triumph, amassing $28 million at the domestic box office against a $6 million budget.
Details of the sequel's plot remain shrouded in secrecy. Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer, and William Sherak are producing the follow-up, while Chad Villella, Tara Farney, Greg Denny, Paul Neinstein, Busick, Murphy, and Weaving serve as executive producers. Richard Ruiz and Cornelia Burleigh are overseeing the project for Searchlight Pictures.
