Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner spent their final days imbued with the warmth of loved ones. Weeks prior to the tragic discovery of their bodies on December 14th, in their home, which the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has labeled as an "apparent homicide," their daughter Romy Reiner, 27, shared a glimpse into a family vacation. On December 1st, Romy shared a recap of their tropical getaway, capturing moments of her mother wrapped in a green and white striped towel on the beach, gazing out at the water, and her father enjoying a swim with her. Accompanying the post, the You People actress wrote, "Grateful for family, health, and followers of any age."

In a separate November 30th post, Romy shared another moment with her parents, including a selfie with her dad wearing a Spinal Tap II baseball hat as they swam in the ocean.
The deaths of Rob and Michele—also parents to Jake Reiner, 34, and Nick Reiner, 32—were confirmed in a statement by family members on the evening of December 14th. "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner," the statement to Variety said. "We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time."
Hours after Rob, 78, and Michele, 68, were found dead in their Brentwood, California home, their son Nick was arrested in connection to their deaths and booked on suspicion of murder. He is being held without bail, according to the LAPD.
Rob's 61-year-old daughter Tracy Reiner—whom he shared with late ex-wife Penny Marshall—has shared that she is still in a state of shock over her father's death. "I came from the greatest family ever," Tracy, who noted she had spent time with her father on December 13th, told NBC News. "I don't know what to say."
Romy has yet to speak out about the loss of her parents. However, the actress often shared sweet glimpses into her relationship with both her parents, but particularly her dad, who was often the subject of comedic clips on her Instagram. In fact, just hours before Rob's death was confirmed, Romy had posted about his 1984 film This Is Spinal Tap and its recently released sequel Spinal Tap II: The End Continues. In a post celebrating Father's Day in 2021, Romy called her father someone "I could talk to forever and also the man who I can sit in silence with and be perfectly content." She concluded in her post, "Love you forever."
