Already hailing as one of the most esteemed directors globally, attracting an endless line of A-list stars, the Scottish auteur Lynne Ramsay's upcoming "Die My Love" is eagerly anticipated, regardless of its eventual release year. With the stellar addition of Jennifer Lawrence to its cast, the film has garnered an even more impressive boost by welcoming Robert Pattinson on board. The recent Deadline report also reveals Martin Scorsese lending his producing prowess to the project. Described as a pulse-racing thriller with a humorous undertone, as divulged in a recent Lawrence interview, "Die My Love" is set in a remote, secluded countryside, where a mother struggles to hold onto her sanity amidst the grip of psychosis. Lawrence will embody the lead role, while Pattinson's part remains a mystery, undoubtedly a pivotal supporting character.
According to a recent report by Canada's CTV News in Calgary, "Die My Love" is slated to commence filming later this summer in the scenic province of Alberta, hinting at further casting announcements in the near future. Ramsay, renowned for her 2011 psychological drama "We Need to Talk About Kevin" starring Tilda Swinton, John C. Reilly, and Ezra Miller, and the 2017 thriller "You Were Never Really Here" featuring Joaquin Phoenix, has directed only four feature films since her 1999 debut "Ratcatcher," despite her high demand and numerous projects in development.
However, it seems another film may precede "Die My Love." In a Variety interview last year, Ramsay revealed that her movie "Polaris," starring Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara, wrapped up production in the summer of 2023. She even suggested a possible title change to "Dark Slides." With no official release dates yet, but fingers crossed, we could potentially enjoy a Ramsay film in 2025 and another in 2026, making up for the wait between her captivating projects.
