Robin Wright opens up about her life in the U.K., sharing poignant insights in a recent Saturday profile with The Times U.K. The Girlfriend star reflects deeply on the striking contrasts between America and England, having called the latter her home and workplace for the past few years. Wright ponders over the lifestyle disparities, highlighting that in England, there exists "a freedom of self," a stark contrast to the United States, where she perceives "everything to be a rush, filled with competition and speed."

"America is a chaotic spectacle... I adore being in this country. Here, there's a sense of personal freedom. People are incredibly kind," she muses. "They're living in the moment. They're not stuck in traffic, glued to their phones in a panic, wolfing down sandwiches. That's what much of America has become—a relentless race, a constant struggle, and an insatiable thirst for speed."

During her tenure in the U.K., the Forrest Gump actress admits she's still grappling with the nation's "obsession with class," as described by The Times. "It's palpable when you enter a room and can feel the judgment or admiration from someone perceived to be of higher status," she adds. "I'm still trying to understand it. Why is there such an intense focus on which boarding school or university someone attended? Who really cares?"

Wright isn't the only Hollywood luminary to relocate out of the United States in recent times. Following President Donald Trump's return to office in March, Rosie O'Donnell made the move to Ireland and affirmed her pursuit of citizenship. "The people here are loving, kind, and welcoming. I'm incredibly grateful," she expressed at the time.

Similarly, Mark Hamill recently confided in The Times that he nearly left the U.S. after Trump's re-election, but his wife persuaded him otherwise after he contemplated relocating to London or Ireland. "She's incredibly wise," he shared. "She didn't respond immediately, but a week later, she said, 'I'm surprised you'd let him force you out of your own country.' That bastard, I thought to myself. I'm not going anywhere."
