ROSÉ and Bruno Mars' collaborative hit "APT." have set a remarkable new benchmark, clinching the prestigious top spot on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for an astonishing 16th consecutive week—an unprecedented feat. Their musical synergy first soared to the summit back in November. Concurrently, Lady Gaga and Mars' enchanting duet "Die With a Smile" continues its reign of terror, celebrating an impressive 10th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart, since initially ascending to the throne last September.
Introduced in September 2020, the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts meticulously rank songs based on an extensive compilation of streaming and sales data from over 200 territories worldwide, expertly curated by Luminate. While the Global 200 embraces a holistic view encompassing all territories, the Global Excl. U.S. focuses solely on those outside the United States.
These chart rankings employ a sophisticated formula that encompasses official streams from both subscription-based and ad-supported audio and video music platforms, alongside download sales. Notably, sales figures exclude direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites, reflecting purchases from established digital music retailers across the globe.
"APT." experienced a resilient rebound, reclaiming the No. 1 position on the Global Excl. U.S. chart with an impressive 88.8 million streams and 8,000 units sold (both metrics witnessing a minor 5% decline week-over-week) from February 21st to 27th outside the U.S. Meanwhile, "Die With a Smile" slipped to No. 2 after its impressive 10-week reign atop the Global Excl. U.S. chart, with Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" holding steady at No. 3, Lamar and SZA's "Luther" maintaining its No. 4 peak, and Billie Eilish's "Birds of a Feather" lingering at No. 5, following its three-week reign last August.
On the Global 200 chart, "Die With a Smile" ascended to the throne, amassing 119.3 million streams (a slight 7% decrease) and 8,000 units sold (down 13%) worldwide. This milestone makes "Die With a Smile" the sixth song to log at least 10 weeks at No. 1, with Mariah Carey's timeless "All I Want for Christmas Is You" leading the pack with a staggering 19 weeks at the summit since its debut in December 2020.
Elsewhere, "APT." soared to No. 2 on the Global 200, following its 12-week reign beginning in October. "Luther" retained its No. 3 high, while "Not Like Us" slipped to No. 4 after four weeks at the top starting last May. "Birds of a Feather" remained steadfast at No. 5, following its three-week reign last August.
