Sources have informed Deadline that Suzanna Son, whose credits include standout performances in "Red Rocket" and "The Idol," has been tapped for a pivotal recurring role in Ryan Murphy's latest chapter of his acclaimed Netflix anthology series, "Monster." While the specific nuances of her character and the intricate plotline of Season 3 remain shrouded in secrecy, it is known that the narrative will pivot around the chilling figure of suspected serial killer Ed Gein, portrayed with chilling precision by Charlie Hunnam. Nicknamed the Butcher of Plainfield and the Plainfield Ghoul, Gein admitted to slaying two women in the 1950s and was rumored to have crafted macabre trophies from body parts and skin of corpses he unearthed from graveyards. Gein's grisly tale served as the muse for Leatherface, the iconic antagonist in Tobe Hooper's 1974 horror masterpiece, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."

Murphy and Ian Brennan are the masterminds behind "Monster," with the inaugural season securing the coveted third spot on Netflix's Top 10 list of most popular English-language programs. Son, a versatile artist trained in piano, dance, and vocals, made her acting breakthrough opposite Simon Rex in Sean Baker's critically acclaimed "Red Rocket," which A24 released in theaters on December 3, 2021. The ensemble cast, including Son, was honored with the Ensemble Spotlight Award at the Middleburg Film Festival, while she personally garnered nominations for Breakthrough Performer at the 31st Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards and Best Supporting Female at the 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards.

In the near future, Son will steal the spotlight alongside India Fowler in "Fear Street: Prom Queen," the next chilling installment of Netflix's hit franchise set to premiere this summer. Prior to this, she captivated audiences in HBO's "The Idol," starring alongside Abel Tesfaye, a.k.a. The Weeknd, and Lily Rose-Depp. For the series' soundtrack, Son lent her talents to three original songs — "Crocodile Tears," "False Idols," and "Family" — and even joined The Weeknd on stage during his world tour in Stockholm, marking her electrifying debut as a live musician.

Son is represented by ColorCreative, IAG, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner & Klein.
