And just like that, Sabrina Carpenter is shouldering a double-barreled role on Saturday Night Live. Sabrina Carpenter Channels Carrie Bradshaw in Hilarious SNL Teaser 1

In a Sex and the City-inspired teaser released on Oct. 15, Sabrina channels Sarah Jessica Parker's iconic Carrie Bradshaw persona, declaring with a wink, "New York is one big apple, and I'm about to take a mighty bite out of Saturday Night Live." The 26-year-old sashays down the hallway backstage at 30 Rock, brushing past a few SNL writers and cast members while delivering a series of self-deprecating quips.

When one of them inquires about her plans, she quips back, "In these heels? Probably like, 5'4"." Later, she mistakenly identifies Marcello Hernandez—whom she once "arrested" at one of her concerts last fall, only to reunite with him during his Domingo sketch on SNL50 this past February—as Carrie's longtime paramour, Mr. Big. "Oh, thank God!" Sabrina exclaims, finishing off a cosmopolitan. "It's Mr. Big!" Marcello corrects her, but gamely grabs the empty glass as she sashays past. "Actually, it's Marcello," he clarifies, "but I'll take it."

The "Please Please Please" songstress continues her stroll down the hallway, where she signs a writer's script, mistaking him for an ardent fan, and then pauses at a laptop to reenact one of Carrie's signature narrated writing scenes. "The woman wondered what she'd gotten herself into," Sabrina intones as she types away. "Having charmed the cast and crew, the only thing left to do was..." Her inner monologue is abruptly interrupted by a writer wondering what she's scribbling, before Sarah Sherman delivers the punchline. "No clue," she exclaims. "The computer's not even on!"

This promo sketch comes on the heels of Sabrina breaking the news that she'd be hosting and performing on the upcoming episode, joking on Instagram on Sept. 18, "They're gonna regret this."
