Sabrina Carpenter is cooking up a daring plan that promises to stir up quite a commotion amongst her adoring fans. The chart-topping sensation behind hits like "Please Please Please" is contemplating instituting a mobile phone ban at her concerts. During a recent interview, the 26-year-old pop starlet confessed that she's seriously mulling over the idea of confiscating phones during her live performances to foster a more immersive and captivating experience. "This might honestly irritate my fans, but absolutely, I'm considering it," admitted the Grammy Award winner, referring to the potential no-phone policy that would involve securing devices in pouches throughout the entire show.
Yet, before her fans cry foul, the "Espresso" crooner clarified that her inspiration stemmed from her own personal experience as a concertgoer. "I attended Silk Sonic's show in Vegas, and they locked my phone away," she shared. "I've never had a more exhilarating experience at a concert. I genuinely felt transported back to the Seventies — albeit I wasn't alive then. It was as if I was truly present in that moment. Everyone was singing, dancing, making eye contact, and laughing. The atmosphere was nothing short of magical," she enthused.
Furthermore, the "Taste" vocalist acknowledged the challenge of such a proposal in today's tech-obsessed world, stating, "I can't fault anyone for wanting to preserve memories." Although the former Disney star's concept might ruffle a few feathers, Carpenter is hardly the first artist to contemplate such a rule. Notably, music legends such as Madonna, Adele, and Bob Dylan have all enforced phone bans at their concerts.
