Sabrina Carpenter undeniably possesses a keen eye for selecting captivating leads for her music videos, showcasing impeccable judgment and refined taste. In the Instagram snippet shared by Sabrina on August 21st, the 25-year-old songstress, known for her hit "Nonsense," elegantly selects a knife amidst an array of weapons artfully arranged on a plush pink bedspread. The scene seamlessly transitions to Sabrina, dressed in a chic blue top, black capris, and heels, confidently striding into a majestic mansion, the knife held aloft in a manner reminiscent of Chucky's iconic entrance in Child's Play, as she ascends a grand staircase.

Later, Sabrina transforms into a vision in all-white attire, entering a bathroom where she parts a transparent curtain to reveal Jenna, showering with an enigmatic figure. Jenna's expression shifts from shock to a hint of terror, just before the screen fades to black, leaving us with Sabrina admiring her reflection in the gleaming blade of the knife. The opening notes of "Taste" echo in the background, accompanied by Sabrina's sultry vocals crooning, "Oh, I leave quite an impression."

Sabrina's choice of Jenna as her co-star in "Taste" might be a subtle homage to their shared Disney past. Both women, having risen to fame through the children's network with roles in Girl Meets World and Stuck in the Middle respectively, have since defied expectations and carved their own paths. While Jenna embraces her roots, evolving into the film industry's reigning scream queen, Sabrina maintains a more distanced perspective.

"I'm 900 inappropriate jokes away from being a Disney actor," she quipped to Variety earlier this month. "I'm honored to be grouped with the inspiring women and girls who came from that world, but I feel quite detached from it."

Moreover, Jenna's casting follows closely on the heels of Sabrina's romantic debut with actor Barry Keoghan in the "Please Please Please" video, released on June 6th. Sabrina gushed over her co-star, proclaiming, "I don't want to sound biased, but I believe he's one of the finest actors of our generation. Seeing him on screen, with my song as the backdrop, elevated the video to new heights of magic and significance."

While their collaborative appearance in "Please Please Please" seemed a romantic gesture, Sabrina's inclusion of Jenna in her Short N' Sweet era underscores her commitment to cultivating a cinematic, star-studded aesthetic—a vibe she previously teased as the theme for her upcoming sixth album. As she shared with Variety, "I am enamored with the faces of the '60s and '90s—old Hollywood, flirtatious, and full of fun."
