Upon being escorted back into custody, the Bad Boy Records founder reciprocated the positivity to his children, conveying his gratitude and love with the words, "Thank you, love you," as relayed by NBC News. As for Combs' mother, Janice Combs, dressed in a blue-and-white patterned blouse adorned with purple-tinted sunglasses, she made her exit from the courtroom, giving a thumbs-up to photographers on her way to her car, clearly expressing her approval of the jury's decision.

Combs, who had pleaded innocence to the charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, as well as transportation for the purpose of prostitution, was convicted of the two prostitution-related offenses but acquitted of the sex trafficking and racketeering charges on July 2nd, following approximately 12 hours of deliberation. This ruling came after the prosecution had presented 34 witnesses over the course of 29 days, including Combs' ex-girlfriends Cassie Ventura and "Jane," who remained anonymous throughout the trial using a pseudonym.

Following the mixed verdict in Combs' case, his family were not the only ones to respond. Ventura's lawyer also weighed in on the jury's decision. "Though the jury did not find Combs guilty of sex trafficking Cassie beyond a reasonable doubt, she has nonetheless paved the way for the jury to convict him of transportation for prostitution," Douglas Wigdor stated in a July 2nd press release to E! News. "By sharing her experience, Cassie has left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice." He added, "We reiterate, without hesitation, our belief in and support for our client, who demonstrated remarkable courage throughout this trial."
