The Oscars 2026 have gifted us with a captivating presence: Chris Evans and Alba Baptista are gracing the event. Nearly six months after the Gifted star and his wife welcomed their precious daughter in October, the couple steps out for the first time at the Academy Awards. In a rare red carpet moment, Chris sports a classic black tux, but adds his own unique touch with circular shades. Meanwhile, Alba dazzles in a silver Zuhair Murad dress with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a stunning blue necklace.
Although Chris’ latest acclaimed film, Materialists, which he starred in alongside Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal, isn’t up for any major awards at the March 15 ceremony, the 44-year-old is set to present alongside Chase Infiniti, Paul Mescal, Anne Hathaway, and more celebs.

Chris and Alba’s big moment also comes after more than a year of operating under the radar. Leading up to he and his wife welcoming their daughter—whose name is Alma Grace Baptista Evans, as multiple outlets have reported—he shared how he and his wife were spending their time.
“We’re laying low,” he explained to E! News in June. “We’re enjoying our time, just relaxing.” But nothing to do is never nothing when you have someone to spend your time with—and Chris has been living on cloud nine since tying the knot with Alba in 2023.
“It’s incredible,” Chris added of married life, two years in. “It’s wonderful.” Indeed, while Chris’ career has been full of quite literally marvelous accomplishments (he’s set to return as Captain America in Avengers: Doomsday next year), all pale in comparison to him when it came to starting a family.
“That’s absolutely something I want,” he told People in 2022. “Wife, kids, building a family. When you read about most of the best artists, whether it’s actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn’t the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared.” As he put it, “I love the idea of tradition and ceremony. I had a lot of that in my life, so the idea of creating that, I can’t think of anything better.”
