Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are indulging in nostalgic reflections of their enchanting love narrative. The soon-to-be-wed duo recently revisited the restaurant where their romance first blossomed, meticulously recreating the shrimp curry dish that marked their inaugural date. On Monday, March 10th, they graced Instagram with a glimpse of this romantic endeavor.
"Imagine the thrill of returning here to cook alongside Jazz—do you even know who Jazz is?" Blanco, 37, teased in the kitchen footage shot within the chef's restaurant, with his 32-year-old fiancée by his side. "We're whipping up some fried shrimp curry," the music producer announced, waving a substantial raw shrimp at the camera while Gomez enthusiastically cheered him on. Together, they crafted a mouthwatering plate, seasoned with lemongrass and laced with coconut milk, serving it alongside crisp lettuce. "I just can't resist adding more sauce," Blanco said, generously ladling it over the dish.
"It looks absolutely perfect," Blanco marveled as Gomez, star of 'Only Murders In The Building,' dug in with a beaming smile.
Gomez, who revealed her engagement to Blanco in December after more than a year of dating, celebrated his recent 37th birthday with a heartfelt slideshow of snapshots documenting their journey together. "I'm clueless about what I did to deserve you, but I'm ever so grateful you were born... Happy birthday, love," she captioned the images, which captured them in cozy snow gear and at glittering events such as the Oscars and the Golden Globes.
The couple has always delighted in sharing intimate glimpses of their bond. On Valentine's Day in February, Gomez and Blanco opened up to Interview magazine about their harmonious balance and the unparalleled joy they find in each other's company. "I'm an introvert who can switch to extrovert mode, but only when I feel obligated," Gomez shared. "It's wonderful to have someone who complements that and encourages me to step out of my comfort zone."
Blanco added that their dynamic is "fantastic" because "she soothes me when I need it most. Whenever I'm feeling less than perfect, she knows precisely what to say." In another excerpt from the interview, Blanco confessed his fears of losing Gomez, revealing that he's "terrified" she might change her mind about him.
"I adore the very ground she walks on, and I sense she feels the same way about me," Blanco expressed. "There's no ego clash between us. She roots for my successes, and I do the same for her."
Elsewhere in the interview, the couple discussed their collaborative efforts on their upcoming surprise album, 'I Said I Love You First,' set for release on March 21st.
