It wasn't merely a figment of imagination; Sharon Stone had indeed embarked on a romantic escapade with a renowned rapper. The clubhouse atmosphere buzzed with excitement as Andy Cohen, the host of "Watch What Happens Live," prodded the Oscar-nominated actress to verify whether she had "once stepped out with Nelly." Cohen quipped, "This tale is so outrageous, I might just buy it." Joining Stone for the August 17 appearance, her "Nobody 2" costar Bob Odenkirk concurred that the rumor wasn't entirely fantastical, adding, "I'm inclined to say, yes."
With a smile, Stone had no qualms confirming the anecdote, stating, "Indeed, I did." However, the spark between them fizzled out swiftly. When Cohen inquired about a second date between the 67-year-old actress and the "Grillz" rapper, she responded, "No, I didn't."
Regrettably, Stone refrained from divulging the details of her outing with the 50-year-old musician. Instead of pursuing a romance with him, she embarked on a journey with TV producer Michael Greenberg, finalizing their divorce in 1990 before tying the knot with actor Phil Bronstein in 1998. The parents of 25-year-old Roan parted ways in 2004, after which Stone went on to adopt Laird, 20, and Quinn, 19.
As for Nelly (born Cornell Haynes Jr.), he rekindled his romance with long-time love Ashanti, marrying her in 2023 and welcoming their 12-month-old son Kareem. Nelly is also a father to Chanelle, 31, and Cornell III, 26, along with his adopted siblings Shawn and Sydney, whom he took in after their mother, Jackie Donahue, passed away in 2005.
Meanwhile, Stone's innate desire to find a lifelong partner persists. "I would be overjoyed to be in a relationship," Stone confessed to The Times in January 2024. "It's just that I dedicate so much of my time to painting; hence, the right man might emerge from out of nowhere. And who knows, it might very well happen."
While Stone admitted to indulging in some Tinder dates, she's quite selective when it comes to swiping right. "Becoming a parent has made me more contemplative about my dating choices," she elaborated. "Once you realize that your decisions impact another being… That's why I joke about having boyfriends from foreign countries. It's one thing to have fun while abroad, but then what if they want to continue dating you? You think, 'Alright, I'll see you when I'm in that country again.'"
