Don't get it twisted: Shawn Johnson East is not expecting another child. The Olympic gymnast, who shares daughter Drew, 6, and sons Jett, 4, and Barrett (a.k.a. "Bear," 2) with husband Andrew East, set the record straight about a fourth pregnancy, clarifying that the rumors circulating online are completely false. "SPAM! NOT TRUE AND NOT OUR ACCOUNT HAHAHAH," she wrote in a since-expired Instagram Story on Feb. 26, which was captured by People. "This was our announcement for being pregnant with BEAR!!!"

Indeed, the announcement video that Shawn, 34, was referencing came from a 2023 episode of her and Andrew's joint podcast, "Couple Things with Shawn and Andrew." At the time, the couple—who has been married since 2016—spoke about their third baby on the way, with Shawn noting that she had been pregnant four times already after suffering a miscarriage during her first pregnancy in 2017. However, it appears her words were taken out of context and reposted by a fan on TikTok on Feb. 23, leading to the recent confusion.
Even though Shawn isn't currently pregnant, she hasn't completely ruled out expanding their family. But, if she chooses to appease her husband—who is one of five siblings—the former Olympian knows she won't be carrying their baby this time around. "I said, 'Well, I can tell you this: This will be my last pregnancy,'" she told E! News in 2023. "I'm up for helping babies around the world who need families. I think we can have that conversation later if that's something we want to talk about."
Shawn—who welcomed all three kids via C-section because of their "very large" size—added, "I've been so lucky to be able to get pregnant and carry babies. But three C-sections will take a toll. And I want to be able to be that mom that's chasing my children around for years and years and years."
In the meantime, Shawn and Andrew certainly have their hands full with three little ones under the age of 7. "I'd say the hardest part is catering to their attention needs," the podcast host told E! News in 2024. "And I don't mean that in a dramatic way. I truly want to be able to spend quality time with all three kids. And having three kids, you have to sacrifice time with each of them for the other."
Noting that she and the former NFL player try their best to give each child one-on-one attention, Shawn acknowledged, "It's sometimes sad because I know Drew wants it, but I'm giving it to Jett, or Jett wants it, but I'm giving it to Bear." "I know it will average itself out," she added. "But we're still figuring out those logistics."
