Mya can't recall a single moment when anyone went off-key during the making of Moulin Rouge. While reminiscing about her performance of "Lady Marmalade" alongside Lil Kim, Pink, and Christina Aguilera for the 2001 film Moulin Rouge!, the singer behind "Case of the Ex" offered her take on the persistent rumors of drama among the vocalists.
"Personally, I never witnessed any catfights or anything of the sort," the 46-year-old artist told People in an interview published on October 8. "Whatever was supposedly going on, I was completely oblivious. I had no eyes or ears to pick up on any clues, if such things even existed."
For more than two decades, whispers of discord between Christina and Pink have lingered in the air. The "Just Give Me a Reason" singer previously confessed that she didn't exactly enjoy her time filming the music video. "It wasn't very fun to make," she revealed to Buzzfeed UK in February 2023, ranking it as her least favorite. "I'm all about having a good time, but this was just a lot of fuss, and there were some... well, personalities. Kim and Mya were nice, though."
While her omission of the "Drrty" singer seemed to hint at underlying tension, Pink quickly reassured fans that she wasn't taking a jab at Christina. "If you haven't figured it out by now—I'm not 'shading' someone by repeating over and over what actually happened," Pink, now 46, wrote on X in February 2023. "I have zero interest in your f***ing drama. In case you haven't noticed—I'm a bit busy selling... And by selling, I mean tickets, albums, bake sales, and all that jazz."
She added, "Also—I kissed xtina's mouth. I don't need to kiss her ass."
As for Christina, who reunited with Pink on The Voice in 2016, she once opened up about her interactions with Pink on the "Lady Marmalade" set. "I know she had some... feelings or whatever about how the recording of 'Lady Marmalade' went," Christina shared during a 2019 appearance on Watch What Happens Live. "And I know during the actual video shoot, she kind of intimidated me. She was heckling me a bit from behind the director, and I was like, 'Oh, what's going on here?'"
"But she's a different person now—she's a mom," Christina continued. "She's cool."
