Sir Ringo Starr, a Beatle legend, has rekindled his partnership with the iconic producer T-Bone Burnett for the 85-year-old drummer's star-studded country album, yet he declined to sing a particularly poignant line from one of the tracks. The heart-wrenching lyric, "Why do we die?", was altered to "Why can't we fly" by Ringo himself, who admitted that some of the lyrics were too emotionally taxing to deliver.
Reflecting on the track "Why," Ringo shared with PEOPLE magazine, "That's country, isn't it? You're in the bar, the wife's left, the dog's dead, and you don't have any change for the jukebox." He further explained that his fascination with the genre began with Hank Williams and other influential figures, who imbued country music with a somber quality.

Despite not claiming to be an expert at dispensing advice, Ringo offered a suggestion to those grappling with life's challenges: "Play it a bit faster! Move forward and move on—on down the road. That's why this [album] is titled Long Long Road. I was reflecting on myself."
Concluding his thoughts on his album, Ringo Starr eloquently remarked, "This has been a long, long road with a few bad moments but lots of great moments. I'm blessed."
