Ashlyn Harris' Oscars confession might even make Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander blush. The former pro soccer goalie was inspired by the Heated Rivalry characters to make a daring fashion choice for her and Sophia Bush's date night at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars Viewing Party. "Heated Rivalry is the only thing I can think about," Ashlyn told People on the red carpet on March 15. "And to be honest—I know I'm oversharing, but that's what we do here—I had to wear my jockstrap tonight to celebrate my boys."
Sophia was fully supportive of Ashlyn's style choice, saying that "she came as one of the boys in a hot woman's body," to which the former U.S. Women's National Team member agreed, "I came as one of the boys." While Ashlyn's jockstrap wasn't a visible part of her ensemble, the Wide Open with Ashlyn Harris podcast host rocked a white suit with an oversized blazer worn open over a lace black bralette. Sophia opted for a sparkling strapless gold gown for the occasion.
The couple, who have been together since late 2023, has long been an open book. And Ashlyn previously cited that as part of the interest in their relationship. "It doesn't help that I'm dating someone who happens to be clickbait for every f**king tabloid," Ashlyn admitted on a March 2025 episode of Danielle Robay's Question Everything podcast. "But honestly, I'm happy. I am so, so happy, and I am in a position now where I can protect that joy and happiness."
"It takes a lot of work," the 40-year-old—who shares kids Sloane, 5, and Ocean, 3, with ex-wife Ali Krieger—continued. "I am human, and things hurt and things do penetrate, but I just protect my overall bubble. Everything has gotten tight and small and intentional. It's OK to make big changes in your life if they bring you joy and they are right for you."
Ashlyn went on to rave about the positive impact that Sophia, 43—who was previously married to One Tree Hill costar Chad Michael Murray and Grant Hughes—has had on her. "She's the smartest human I know," she gushed. "And it's so sexy and fun 'cause I'm like, 'You are such a nerd, and I am such a jock.' She's a theater baby with asthma. I'm this unhinged, unfiltered, unbuttoned, tattooed athlete. We are so different. We're such empaths. We're such lovers. We're such givers. She makes me better every day. I'm the luckiest human alive."
