Sophie Grégoire Trudeau is maintaining her priorities in high regard. The motivational speaker, who separated from Justin Trudeau in 2023, shared how she handles the former Canadian prime minister's life under the public eye amid rumors of his romance with Katy Perry. "We're human beings, and things affect us," she told Arlene Dickinson during the November 12 episode of the Arlene Is Alone podcast. "How you react to things is your choice. So I choose to listen to the music instead of the noise."

While Arlene didn't mention Katy, 41, by name, the Dragons' Den star pointed to "the publicness of what Justin is doing" after joking about their post-breakup dating lives. But as the politician seems to be getting closer with the "Roar" singer, who recently soft-launched their relationship on social media, Sophie is focused on her own growth.
"I'm very aware that a lot of public stuff out there can be triggers," she continued, noting, "The woman I become through this is my decision." Sophie, who is a mother to Xavier, 18, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11, with Justin, also offered insight into her coparenting dynamic with her ex, noting that they both prioritize their kids in unison.
"I'm definitely not a single mom," the 50-year-old emphasized. "I have a partnership with a father who has such deep love and availability to his children." Indeed, despite their split, Sophie and Justin continue to operate as a singular family unit.
"We have separate lives, but we have one family life," she continued. "You need a common, conscious decision of, 'Our family is our greatest creation and we're going to feed it together, no matter if we're on different life paths.'" "It's not always easy to live," Sophie added, "but it's very adult."
