Stephen Curry is serving Killer Mike with a technical foul of sorts. The NBA superstar recently took aim at the "Scientists & Engineers" rapper after he made a derogatory remark about Curry's wife, Ayesha Curry. Their exchange sent shockwaves through social media on September 5, when rapper Bookie Woodz posted an Instagram video accusing Ayesha, 36, of "struggling to resist the urge to cheat" on her husband. He went on to compare her to rapper GloRilla, suggesting that she should "drop an album" instead of "tarnishing" the legacy of the Golden State Warriors star.
While some viewers disagreed with Bookie Woodz's statements, Killer Mike (real name Michael Render) appeared to echo the sentiment in the comments section. "My n---a Said She Wanna Go Be Glo!!!," the 50-year-old rapper wrote in a comment that has since been deleted, according to Us Weekly. "Man, Steph doesn't deserve this embarrassment, frfr. God bless him."
But Stephen, 37—who shares four children, Riley, 13, Ryan, 10, Canon, 7, and Caius, 16 months, with the host of Ayesha’s Homemade—didn't take kindly to the rapper's endorsement. "Naaaaa, not you Mike," he responded in a now-deleted reply, as reported by Us Weekly. "I'm cool with stating my case and letting these other clowns have their moment. You're better than that... stay in your lane and let God keep blessing me like He is. We're good over here."
E! News has reached out to representatives for both Killer Mike and Stephen but has yet to receive a response.
Stephen and Ayesha have never been shy about expressing how they've transformed each other's lives. In fact, last month, the celebrity chef revealed that she hadn't been interested in settling down before meeting Stephen. "I thought I was gonna be a career girl and that's it," she explained on the August 20 episode of Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast. "I had my eyes set on my goals. I was never the little girl who dreamt about the wedding dress and all of that. And then it happened so early in my life."
Indeed, the couple—who met as teenagers—began expanding their family after Stephen was drafted into the NBA in 2009 and got married two years later. And while Ayesha adores the family they've built, she admitted that she had fallen behind on her life goals as they continued to navigate parenthood. But with the support of her family, she began to refocus on her business aspirations.
"I remember there being a shift and being like, 'I have goals for myself. This doesn't feel right,'" she reflected on her past thoughts. "I love being a mom, but I love doing other things too, and I need to get my s--t together and figure out what that looks like for myself now."
